Win a Car for Christmas!

Beep-Beep, Honk-Honk! Wouldn’t it be lovely to win a car for Christmas? My children have completely ruined the interior of my Kia and it’s my dream to present a brand new shiny car outside, in the snow, decorated with a red ribbon as a Christmas surprise to the family. Although I might not allow the kids to sit in it for a week – hee hee.

I’ve been looking around but the only UK wide car competitions and there’s a definite shortage.  I have found some from data-mining sites, and I know that someone will win these, but during the festive period – my e-mail folder can do without the added promotions and spurious sales calls (that will inevitably flow into 2015 – like a bad hangover) that come with such sites. There’s nothing inherently ‘wrong’ about data-mining sites and it’s your personal choice – there are certainly some fantastic prizes to be had, but just not my personal cup of tea during high comping season.

In the excitement of online Christmas prize draw competitions; it can be easy to overlook the obvious places to look for competitions to win a car – local charity raffles! I often donate around £20 to £30 to various Christmas charities during the run-up to Christmas – every charity seems to be on the doorstep and around town with collecting buckets, and quite right as well!

The solution? Killing two birds with one stone (or pound coin!) By directing my usual donation money with raffles offering cars. I’m still donating to worthy causes, supporting the local community and…maybe the prizes will come?

There are many advantages to local raffles. Many local people see a car competition and think it’s a scam of some sort – and don’t enter! The prize sounds too good to be true, but that isn’t always the case! Many local car dealerships have promotions and have policies in place to support the community in a charitable capacity. Others resent paying for raffle tickets when Christmas is already expensive enough. Therefore, there is every chance that winning a car in a charity raffle could be the answer! If I usually donate to charity anyway, I don’t really see it as gambling – as long as I only spend what I’d donate.

In addition to local raffles, I’ve found a few UK wide charity raffles to win a car. Here is a taster:

Guide Dogs – Tickets are £1. Grand Car Prize: Win £10,000 cash or a Brand New Volkswagon Polo. Second prize: £1,500 cash Third Prize: £600 cash 20 x Runners up of luxury food hamper!

St Christopher’s Hospice – Tickets are £1. Grand Car Prize: Nissan Micra 1.2 Vissa. Second: £500 Vigin Experience Day Voucher Third: Apple iPad Mini plus others!

St Gemma’s Hospice – Tickets £1 (Click the Win a Car for Christmas Raffle and send an e-mail to buy) Grand Car Prize: Mitsubishi Mirage worth £9,000

Alan Shearer Centre – Only 9,000 tickets available at £5 each. Grand Car Prize: Renault Twingo.

A ticket to each of these would only cost £8 – less than a third of my usual Christmas charity donation outlay! If I won, I’d definitely not be a scrooge about it and make an extra donation to all my favourite charities to make up for my brilliant prize! Beep Beep! Honk Honk!

Will you be doing this? Do you enter paid entry comps like texts to gain extra entries? Has your local area got any astounding prizes that only your area can enter – Go on, make us jealous and tell us all about those fab low entry car prizes in your area!
