Are you feeling a bit like Cinderella? Working hard with no reward? Entering competitions all day can be a lonely business, can’t it? – Particularly if you are entering high volumes. Although we belong to an online competition community – a vast amount of time is spent in entering competitions and consequently blocking out the world! Coupled with a phase of not winning – it’s easy to find yourself in the murky depths of comping malaise and melancholy.
Don’t Despair! You SHALL go to the ball!
During these times – be your own Fairy Godmother and try these magical tips to get you back into the comping groove! The decorative pumpkin season is the perfect time to start – let’s hope some of these tips will have the power to turn some of them into sparkly coaches!
All Fairies know that the secret to winning competitions is BELIEF! You have to believe in the power of the win. If you are falling behind with your volumes – remember, if you have entered a competition, then you have just as much chance as everyone who has entered that competition. Even if you are busy and only get to enter a few then there’s no reason that you have less chance of winning that particular competition!
Increase your chances of winning by entering lower entry competitions such as creative competitions and competitions that require more effort. Even very little effort can pay off – a charismatic or funny comment in the middle of the usual ‘done’ or ‘great prize’ might just cast a spell over the promoter and land you in prize-winning glory!
Like Cinderella, you might have a gaggle of evil stepsisters/mothers intent on bringing you down – in this case, Keep Calm and Carry on Comping! Their jealousy is merely an indication of their own character, it’s nothing to worry about let alone think about. Jealous/mocking people are their own enemy in the long run.
Be sure to create magic everywhere you go! If you spot a competition that you think would suit others – share it! The current Facebook phrase of ‘Sharing is Caring’ extends to your friends, family and even acquaintances. From competitions to win cash for schools or a competition that rewards community projects – one comper’s trash is another’s treasure!
Finally, there is a lot to be said for spreading the magic. Whether you believe in Karma, or Law of Attraction or whether you don’t, exuding magical sparkles not only helps others, but it might help you feel enchanted by your hobby again.
